Skye & Jax - Picturesque
Who is Skye...

January 31, 2002

Skye: What happened?

Jax: You fell asleep while we were strategizing about how to deal with Sonny.

Skye: Why are you staring at me like that?

Jax: I'm not staring, I'm studying.

Skye: Well, it's unnerving. You're staring at me like you either want to throttle me or... What's going on in that head of yours, Jax?
What are you looking at?

Jax: Not quite sure.

Skye: I'm really not that much of a mystery.

Jax: On the contrary. You know, every time I think I've figured you out, you surprise me by doing something entirely different.

Skye: For example?

Jax: Well, when I first met you, I dismissed you as shallow, which can still be true on occasion.

Skye: Let's move on to the part that surprises you.

Jax: Ok, well, you can also be charming and funny and caring. So I'm wondering, who are you, Skye? Are you the woman that cares so much about her family that they can make her cry, or are you the cold-blooded one that told an innocent 20-year-old that Edward's heart attack was her fault? So which one is it? Are you the woman trying to make a better life for herself, or the manipulator bent on revenge?

Skye: You tell me.

Jax: Ok, well, I'd have to say you're a little of all those things.

Skye: If you're trying to compliment me, you're going to have to do a little better than that.

Jax: Well, I'm simply trying to factor in all the information I've gathered about you. Believe me, that's not an easy task, you're a complicated woman, Skye.

Skye: Is that a bad thing?
Well, I should be relieved you haven't reduced me to a stereotype.

Jax: Far from it.

Skye: So, you appreciate complicated women?

Jax: Well, unpredictability, that can keep life interesting.

Skye: So tell me, which one of my quirks are you curious about?

Jax: Well, whatever you want to tell me. Who and what do you like?

Skye: Well I, I like my father. I care about what he thinks about me, maybe a little too much, but I will let my mother the analyst handle that one. I like people who are strong and who know what they want and they go after it, like you, Jax.

Jax: I like you, too, Skye. Well, you just described yourself, a strong person who knows what she wants and goes after it.

Skye: Does that make you uncomfortable?

Jax: What do you think?

Skye: I think there are men who couldn't handle a woman like that. They prefer to take the initiative themselves. They, they want to be relied on, not have their authority questioned. The idea that a woman can make her own decisions, well that just scares them to death.

Jax: Yes, there are men like that.

Skye: But you're not one of them?

Jax: Would I be standing here if I were?

Skye: Probably not.

Jax: You definitely know what you want, Skye. I admire that in a woman.

Skye: Do you know what this take-charge kind of woman would like to do right now, Mr. Jacks?

[Phone rings]

Jax: Your pocket is ringing.

Skye: Oh, I didn't even know I brought this thing.

Jax: Well, you know, a good CEO is never far from the phone. I'm impressed.

[Ring]

Jax: Or, I will be if you answer that.

Skye: Hello?

Alan: Skye, it's me. I'm at the hospital.

Skye: Is Grandfather all right?

Alan: Yeah, he's recovering well.

Skye: Oh, well, that's good news.

Alan: When he woke up before, he, he asked to see you.

Skye: Me?

Alan: Yeah, and I told him he should wait until he was a little bit stronger, but he was adamant.

Skye: Did he say why?

Alan: No, and when I suggested that you postpone the visit, he became very agitated and he insisted that I call you.

Skye: Would you trust me if I came?

Alan: I deserve that, and I would understand if you decided not to come. I just told Father that I would call you, and I've done that.

Skye: Well, I'll think about it.

Jax: That was about Edward?

Skye: Yeah. Edward just woke up from surgery, and guess who the first person is he asks to see.

Jax: You?

Skye: Yeah. That's crazy, isn't it? I mean, just when you think you've heard everything...

Jax: You going to go?

Skye: Oh, I don't know if I'm really in the mood for my family right now, but...oh, what the heck. If Grandfather wants to make a stab at being a better person, then I can meet him halfway, right?

-------------------------------------

Edward: So, did you deliver my message to Skye?

Alan: I did.

Edward: Then why isn't she here?

Skye: You called, Grandfather?

Edward: All right, everybody out. Skye and I need some privacy.

Alan: You need to relax, sir.

Edward: Stop stressing me Alan and leave.

Skye: I won't do anything to agitate him.

Alan: All right.

Jax: I'll leave you two.

Skye: What did you want to say to me?

Edward: Gotcha.
