Skye: My treat.
Jax: I prefer mineral water.
Skye: A nature boy, exactly what I needed. Fortunately for you, the can is empty, so you don't have to worry about fouling up your bodily temple. What are you, by the way? 6'2"? 6'3"? Oh, never mind. Obviously, you're big enough. Strapping, some would say. Squeeze.
Jax: Well, I guess you, you're trying your hand at recycling?
Skye: I'm working on a different project, so humor me. Squeeze the can. Actually, crush it.
[Jax crushes the can]
Jax: That concludes the entertainment portion for the evening.
Skye: Oh, lucky me, big and strong. Looks like I found my man.
Skye: Oh, my self-defense instructor has stressed the importance of my sparring with somebody larger than me. Are you available?
Jax: No, you know, I make it a policy not to assault women.
Skye: Well, if you're afraid of hurting me, don't be. Inside this compact frame lives a will of steel and the power to subdue strong men.
Jax: Well, I have no doubt.
Skye: Then why are you hesitating? Afraid I'll get you in a stronghold?
Jax: Yeah, terrified of you.
Skye: Well, don't be. Don't laugh! You know, I can do it if I wanted to.
Jax: Really?
Skye: That's probably why you're avoiding me right now because you know that...
Jax: You were saying?
Skye: Well, I'm semi-impressed, but there are 64 moves in the book. Wait till you see my next one.
[They're sparring]
Jax: You're looking quite aggressive.
Skye: What, would you rather I sit back and wait for you to make the first move, huh?
Jax: You're telegraphing. Now, try to be a little more subtle.
Skye: Yeah? Try to stop running.
Jax: No, I'm just getting a feel for your rhythm, you know. Your strengths, your weaknesses, your blind spots.
Skye: Oh, I can see quite clearly, thank you very much.
Jax: You're pushing too hard.
Skye: What if I'm bluffing?
Jax: What if I'm not?
[Jax throws her over his shoulder and dumps her on the couch]
Jax: What do you have to say about that?
Skye: Gotcha!
Jax: "Gotcha"? May I remind you that I am on top of you and you cannot move.
Skye: What if I'm perfectly comfortable where I am?
Jax: Oh, you like feeling powerless?
Skye: You honestly can't feel my power?
Jax: All right, take your right hand, grab my right wrist. That's it. Grab that hand, the top of my arm right there. Now, at the same time, I want you to arch your back and kick up with your right knee.
[Skye gets him off of her]
Jax: That's good. Well, that concludes our, our lesson for this evening.
Skye: Well, you're certainly better prepared than I thought. I'm going to enjoy sparring with you.
Jax: Well, you're ctainly motivated.
Skye: Thanks for the tutorial.
Skye: So much for act one.

[Later, Knock on door]
Skye: Does that, that last move you tried on me have a name? Because I want to go to the library and study up on some self-defense videos.
Jax: What happened?
Skye: Well, you know, if I'm going to learn to defend myself, I want to do it as quickly as possible.
Jax: Did Sonny threaten you again?
Skye: Well, that depends on what you consider a threat.
Jax: Look at you, you're terrified. Sit down. So, tell me what happened.
Skye: Well, I went back to my room after our lesson here to go take a shower, and it wasn't until I was getting ready to get into bed that I, I noticed this on my pillow.
Jax: The red queen.
Skye: I take it that's supposed to be me and I gather that's how I'm supposed to end up. You know, the worst part is whoever did this absconded with my mint.
Jax: Hey, this is no joke, of course this came from Sonny.
Skye: I've made a lot of enemies over the years. You can't be certain that it's from him.
Jax: The hell I can't. I've stood by and watched Sonny destroy someone I care about. I should've paid him back years ago, but she asked me to make peace. So because of her, I, I turned a blind eye to most of the things that he's done. But I'm not going to stand by and watch him dismantle your life.
Skye: So this is your chance to get back at Sonny, and I'm just the convenient excuse to do so?
Jax: You're a woman who's been threatened. I'm going to find out who did this. I want you to make a list of all the enemies you have. You can start with nursery school, work your way forward. I'm going to check every person on that list and eliminate the suspect.
Skye: This could take a while.
Jax: Ok, well, I'll order room service. Now, if we have to stay up all night, we're going to prove that Sonny's behind the threats and then I'm going to find a way to stop it.
