Business or pleasure... |
Skye: You don't need to stay with me tonight. Jax: Well, you know, the person that was at the window might come back. Skye: I'm sure he left as soon as he saw you. Jax: Yeah, if he was a Peeping Tom, probably. But if that person was working for Sonny, he'll be back. Skye: I'm really not that concerned. Jax: You heard Sonny's veiled threats at No Name. Skye: He probably says all those things just to sound tough. Jax: Well, you don't know Sonny as well as I do. Skye: Thanks for the offer, Jax, but I'm really exhausted. I think I'm just going to turn in. Jax: ...doesn't come back. Skye: I told you I was getting ready for bed. Jax: And you do it so well. Skye: Well, I'm glad you appreciate it. Jax: You're a beautiful woman, Skye. Skye: Thank you. Jax: You're also a woman who's very much aware of her beauty. Skye: You say that like it's a bad thing. Jax: No, not at all. It's quite refreshing, actually. Jax: You know exactly what you're doing, don't you? Skye: You tell me. Jax: Well, the way you dropped that robe, the moonlight shining through the window, shining onto your body as you moved. You wanted me to watch you. Skye: Well, when you put it that way... Jax: You going to tell me I'm wrong? Skye: You're very good at what you do. Jax: What's that, exactly? Skye: Well, seeing people for who they are, keeping an open mind. Jax: Well, I'm not swayed by preconceived ideas. I pretty much don't care what people think. Neither do you. Skye: One of the many things we have in common. Who would've guessed? Well, we sure have come a long way, haven't we? Jax: You were certainly a challenge. Skye: I thought you liked challenges. Jax: Oh, I do. Skye: So do I. Jax: However... Skye: Yes? Jax: There's no quicker way to ruin a friendship. Skye: Oh, I agree. Never mix business with... Well, anything. Skye: Of course, one can always forget about business and just think about... Jax: Pleasure. Skye: I think I'll turn in. |
Skye: Just one more question. What about love? Jax: What about it? Skye: Well, you say you never mix business with pleasure, but is there anything in your life that mixes with love? Jax: It's kind of personal. I don't really talk about it. Skye: Yeah, I know what you mean. I've given up on it myself, I just wondered. You said to me that you felt like you'd never open up your heart again. Are you still so sure about that? Jax: Why have you given up on love? Skye: The short version? Love hurts too much. Jax: It doesn't have to. Skye: People say there's a soul mate out there for everyone. Well, if that's the truth, then mine is definitely in hiding. Jax: Well, you never know. Skye: I've had my share of relationships. It's always the same story. Either you fall for men who are too good for you or you fall for men who aren't good enough, and, well, it's same old thing. Finally, your heart gets torn and shredded enough and you realize that there's too much scarring to feel anything at all. Jax: Well, obviously, you've never experienced real love. Skye: Oh, please, don't tell me you're one of those old-fashioned romantics. Jax: No, not at all. I just know it exists. Skye: I believed in the tooth fairy once. Then I grew up. Jax: Skye, I've had real love, and it's amazing. The person you love becomes such a part of your life that it's the most wonderful thing in the world. You would do anything for each other and you never want to be apart. I can't imagine ever feeling like that again. Skye: Well, that's all really great to hear about, but in the end you're still here with me, just as alone. Jax: I thought you said you were tired. Skye: Yeah, it's been a long day. Jax: Yeah. I'll just, I'll just crash on the chair. Skye: Oh, I'm sure if you keep the terrace doors locked, I'll be fine. Jax: Well, you know, I'd just feel better if, if I knew that you felt safe, so I'll, I'm not going to disturb you, ok? Skye: All right. You don't snore or anything? Jax: No, no, not that I've been told. How about yourself? Skye: Of course I don't. Skye: Good night, Jax.
